Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-25 · Last updated 25 October 2026 · Effective immediately

In short: MEDOST is an AI study tool for medical students. Use it to learn, never as medical advice for a real patient. Don't post anything harmful or anything that identifies a patient. You can cancel auto-renew or delete your account yourself at any time. By using MEDOST you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

MEDOST ("we", "us") is an online study service at medost.app and in the MEDOST Android app, run by the MEDOST team in India. Customer care, complaints and grievances: [email protected] · Help centre · Contact page.

2. Who can use MEDOST

You must be at least 18 years old. By using MEDOST you confirm that you are 18 or over, that you are a medical student, health professional or studying a health subject, and that the details you give us are true.

3. Your account

4. Rules for using MEDOST

Use MEDOST only for lawful study. You must not upload, post, share or send anything that:

  1. belongs to someone else and that you have no right to share;
  2. is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invades someone's privacy (including bodily privacy), insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender, is racially or ethnically objectionable, relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling, or promotes enmity between groups on grounds of religion or caste with intent to incite violence;
  3. is harmful to children;
  4. infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other right;

You must also not:

If you break these rules we may remove the content, limit your account, or suspend or close it, and where the law requires we report it to the authorities.

5. AI answers and the medical disclaimer

MEDOST's answers, questions, images and videos are made by artificial intelligence. They are for learning only and are never medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment decision. For real patients, rely on qualified doctors and current clinical guidelines.

AI can be wrong, even when it sounds sure. Check anything important against standard textbooks and guidelines; MEDOST shows its sources where it can. Marks from the Answer Checker are an AI estimate for practice and are not official marks. Content made by AI in MEDOST's videos and social media posts is marked as AI-generated.

6. Plans, payments and auto-renew

7. Your content and question papers

What you upload (questions, notes, images) stays yours. You let us process it only to run MEDOST for you.

Question papers. When you upload a previous university question paper, you confirm you are allowed to share it. MEDOST reads the questions from it and shows them (not your photos) to other students to help them prepare. Do not upload papers from confidential examinations such as NEET PG, FMGE, USMLE, PLAB or AMC, or anything you do not have the right to share. We remove papers on request.

8. Community rules

The MEDOST Community is for learning between students and doctors. The rules in section 4 apply to every post and answer. In addition:

9. Complaints and Grievance Officer

To complain about content, an account, a payment or anything else, or to report a breach of these terms, write to the Grievance Officer, MEDOST at [email protected] (or use the Contact page). Please include a link to or description of the content and why you are complaining.

These steps follow the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. We remind users of these rules at least once a year.

Copyright complaints. If something posted on MEDOST (a community post, answer, photo or uploaded question paper) uses your copyrighted work without permission, write to [email protected] with: the work and proof that it is yours, the exact link or location on MEDOST, your contact details, and a statement that the use is not authorised. We disable access to it promptly while we look into it, as the Copyright Act, 1957 (section 52(1)(c)) and the IT Rules, 2021 require, and tell the person who posted it. Accounts that keep posting others' work are closed.

10. MEDOST's content and open-source credits

Your licence to use MEDOST. While your account is in good standing, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the MEDOST website and app for your own study. You may not resell or share access, copy or scrape the service or its question banks, reverse-engineer it, use it to build a competing product, or get around plan limits or security. We may end the licence if these terms are broken (section 14).

MEDOST's design, code, text and AI setup belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. Don't copy them or build on them without permission. MEDOST is built with open-source software, open data and openly licensed images; they and their licences are listed on the Credits page, and images show their own credit where they appear.

11. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

12. Availability and changes to features

We work to keep MEDOST running but can't promise it will never be slow or unavailable. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove something you paid for, we will offer a fair solution, such as a partial refund.

13. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, MEDOST is not liable for errors in AI-generated content, for any harm from relying on MEDOST for clinical decisions, for loss of data or profits, or for indirect losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot be excluded.

14. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Account → Data → Delete my account; this cancels any auto-renew. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; where we can, we tell you why first. After an account ends, its data is handled as the Privacy Policy says.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms in a way that matters, we update the version above, tell you in the app or by email, and ask you to accept the new version before you continue.
